Carl Did A Bad Thing
Carl, an awkward 20-something, says something he regrets. He wakes the next morning to find a button at his doorstep that when pressed, can send him to any point in time. Embarrassed with himself, Carl uses the button to go back to the previous night to change his actions, but he can’t seem to get it right. He continues to reverse time, however his repeated use of the button digs him into a deeper hole.

Carl Did a Bad Thing was a project that pushed me outside of my comfort zone as the stylistic choices in the director's vision were different to my style of filmmaking.
Being a cinematographer driven by character development, I added to this production by enhancing the essence of Carl’s personality. The stylistic choice of red lighting was used to highlight Carl's internal fear but also his newfound power. Additionally, the incorporation of low angles on Carl during the climatic moment of the film showed his lies and insecurities building up.
